A special demo version of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is now available on the Nintendo 3DS.
How To Get the Demo[edit]
A special code is needed before you can download the demo from the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Codes can be obtained through a number of ways:
- Codes will be sent out in the October edition of the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter. You can sign up for the Pokemon Trainer Club newsletter by clicking this link. Make sure you Opted In to receive emails by October 20th. Check your SPAM folder or add pokemon@email.pokemon.com to your address book so that your newsletter doesn't get caught in your spam filter.
- Codes will be distributed at select cinema locations nationwide from November 7 to November 13 (while supplies last).
- Check with your local retailer during the holidays to find out about special demo code giveaways (while supplies last).
- A code will be available after purchasing the new Pokemon Art Academy game from the Nintendo 3DS/2DS eShop. Available on October 24th.
- A code will be available after purchasing The Pokemon Puzzle Challenge or Pokemon Trading Card game on the Nintendo 3DS/2DS eShop. Pokemon Puzzle Challenge will be available on November 6th, and The Pokemon Trading Card Game will be available on November 13th. The demo code will be on your eShop receipt.
- Codes will be sent out during the week of October 31st to select Nintendo customers with Nintendo Network IDs who have signed up to receive promotional emails from Nintendo.
- Codes will be distributed during the holiday mall tour from November 24th to December 21st at 16 different locations throughout the US. Tour locations TBA.
Unlockables[edit]
The special demo can be played as many times as you like. After completing the first adventure, you will be able to go on more adventures with short objectives.
Each time you complete an adventure, the coming soon cut scene will roll, the game will save, and you can restart the demo and play another adventure.
Complete the demo a set amount of times to receive new rewards that can be sent to Pokemon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire when they release.

How to Transfer to the Full Game[edit]
The unlockable demo rewards can be transferred over to the full Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games, but only one set of items per day can be sent.
To transfer the rewards, speak with Steven in the demo and select the option 'Send to full game.' Choose which ever rewards you wish to send, then select 'Quit playing.' The rewards will be sent to the Pokemon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire game that's in your 3DS. If you have both a digital and physical cartridge in your 3DS at the same time, the items will be sent to the cartridge.
Finally, start up your Pokemon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire game and select 'Pokemon Link' at the main menu. This will send the rewards to your bag/PC in your saved game.
The demo starts out in Mossdeep City. You and Steven Stone will walk over to the Pokemon scientist's lab. There you will find Team Aqua at the front door.
Before you can battle Team Aqua, you must choose a starter Pokemon. Steven Stone will allow you to choose one of the three below:

Most of the trainers in this demo are incredibly weak. You can take out their Pokemon with one or two attacks. The first grunt will have a Poochyena.

After the battle, the scientist will come outside and thank you for helping him.
You can now explore Mossdeep City. You won't be able to enter any buildings, and there are no wild Pokemon or items around. When you're ready to continue on, speak to Steven in front of the Pokemon Center. Together, you will fly to a nearby island.
The island has a few wild Pokemon in the tall grass. If you don't want to battle any wild Pokemon, avoid the tall grass as much as possible. Increase your Pokemon's level by one to get it to evolve into its final stage!

You will have 3 Hyper Potions and 3 Full Heals available in your bag. The objective of this adventure is to find and rescue the Pokemon that's capable of Mega Evolution. Up ahead is Team Magma. Battle both grunts back to back to enter the cave.

With Team Magma out of the way, enter the cave to find your Rival. It looks like she's just been defeated by Team Aqua. Help her out by battling both Team Aqua Grunts back to back.

Your rival will heal your Pokemon after both grunts have been defeated. Continue on in search of the Pokemon with Mega Evolution capabilities. More tall grass can be found inside this cave with new kinds of wild Pokemon.
Up ahead are the admins for Team Magma and Team Aqua. They will be arguing amongst themselves until they see you standing nearby.
Steven Stone will rush in and fight by your side. Before the battle starts, he will teach your Pokemon their ultimate moves!

Steven will then give you a Mega Bracelet with a key stone inside. This item allows you to Mega Evolve Pokemon that are holding their Mega Stone. And Steven just happens to have a Mega Stone for your Pokemon!
Try to Mega Evolve your Pokemon and use their ultimate move in the next battle. It should make short work of Team Magma and Team Aqua.

With those two taken care of, the cave will be cleared of trainers. Head down the stairs to the left, and follow the path to the end. This path will take you outside, around, and back inside the cave.
Steven will be standing next to a single patch of grass. He will tell you the wild Pokemon you came to rescue is hiding in this single patch, and will give you a few Poke Balls to capture it. Enter the tall grass to start the battle. Remember to weaken the wild Pokemon a little before throwing a Poke Ball!

If you fail at capturing it, you can try again and again. It may not be a good idea to Mega Evolve Sceptile if you chose that Pokemon. Mega Sceptile is a Grass/Dragon-type Pokemon, which makes it 4x weak to Ice-type attacks!
Capturing Glalie will end the adventure. The ending cut scene will play, and the game will save. You can start up the Demo and play another adventure if you like.

Replay For More Adventures![edit]
Start up the demo again and speak to Steven Stone. He'll give you the Glalie you caught during the first mission, along with all three starters at their final evolutionary stage!
When the full game comes out, speak to Steven Stone to send any rewards you have earned to the full Pokemon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire games.

Start up another adventure by talking to Steven and selecting “Let's have an adventure!” The adventures ahead seem to be randomized. You may need to defeat three trainers, find a Pokemon near the tall grass, or find a Pokemon hiding in empty patches around tall grass. On the 5th and 10th adventures, you will face a single tough trainer.
You can continue playing the demo as many times as you like, but your Pokemon will not grow, you cannot capture any new Pokemon, and the missions will be the same time and time again. It's best to play a max of ten times before the full games release to earn some great rewards.
